Total Gym XLS Review

The Total Gym XLS reviews mention several useful features of this product as well as a couple of handy tips. To begin with, most people are much happier with the use of body weight for resistance rather than rods or bands. Additionally, the adjustable resistance system is useful for weight training beginners, as they can condition themselves with a low resistance level, before notching up the challenge.

However, you may need to invest in a few additional accessories. For example, the maximum resistance setting is 44% of your body weight. When you want to build serious muscle, this may not be enough. Then you would need to invest in a weight bar. Keep in mind, however, that this gym system strangely does not provide retainer clips for the weight bar. These are an absolute necessity and you can get your own from fitness stores.

Reviewers have reported that this gadget is not great for bench press and chest fly exercises, since it puts you in an awkward posture. However, it works beautifully for leg, back and arm exercises.

As a precaution, be extremely careful while folding this device. Your fingers can easily get caught in the glideboard. Users have reported that it moves suddenly, catching them unaware. Also, wear a ponytail if your hair is long or else it will get caught in the wheels! Summing up, in spite of its minor glitches, this is a smooth and reliable home gym.
