Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells Review

single_review

One of the problems encountered when using dumbbells for weight training is that you need a lot of small plates if you are doing variety of exercises. This creates the need for a great deal of space to keep the weights. It is possible to purchase a set of solid dumbbells of each weight that you might need but this is expensive and, again, takes up a lot of room.

The Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells have been designed to overcome this problem by incorporating 15 weight options into one set of dumbbells. They do this by having a dial on each end of the dumbbell that is turned to select the weight that is required.

The system locks the selected weight onto the dumbbell and the unused weights are left in the base of the system. The Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells allow the user to select a weight of from 5 to 52.5 lbs for each dumbbell, in increments of 2.5 lbs.

Technical Details

  • Combines 15 sets of weights into one, using a unique dial system

Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells review

There were a lot of reviews for the Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbells and they mostly had only good things to say about the product. The main benefit that reviewers were in favor of was the fact that they only needed one pair of dumbbells to be able to achieve a wide range of weights of up to 52.5 lbs. With normal free weights this would require a lot of small plates and a lot of time-consuming plate changing. The Bowflex adjustable dumbbells also take up very little space and this was another major plus point mentioned by many reviewers.

The Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbell reviews were not all completely positive, however. One person thought that the extra length of the Bowflex SelectTech 552 adjustable dumbbells compared to standard dumbbells made certain exercises a little more difficult. Some users also found that the plastic clip that is used to hold the weights in position on the dumbbell was a little too flimsy for the job.

On a more positive note, most buyers of the dumbbells thought that the small incremental increase, 2.5 lbs at each turn of the dial, was ideal for dumbbell exercises.

On the whole, considering the many favorable Bowflex Adjustable Dumbbell reviews, we feel quite confident about recommending them to you. They have a useful range of weights and make the task of changing the resistance of each dumbbell quick and easy.
