p90x vs insanity

The main difference between the two programs is that p90x covers a period of ninety days whilst the Insanity workout extends over sixty days. There is a good reason for this disparity. The ultimate goal of these workout schedules is to improve your current fitness level but, with p90x, there is an element of muscle building which takes a little longer to achieve. There is also a difference in the pace of the programs; Insanity is fast and furious and deigned to achieve a very high degree of fitness in the shortest possible time, whereas p9ox has its emphasis on muscle tone and shape.

Because of this approach, p90x is more like the traditional weight training type of workout although it also includes elements of yoga and cardio training. It intertwines these different aspects of training to give you a more-balanced and complete workout. Insanity, on the other hand, is more concerned with developing extreme fitness, and does this through a combination of cardio and strength training exercises which are carried out alternately. As would be expected from the name of the program these workouts are done at an extreme pace to provide the maximum benefit in a short time.

What Do You Need For P90x Or Insanity Before You Can Start?

The Insanity program utilizes bodyweight to provide the necessary resistance for the exercises, and simply increases the speed and duration of the workouts in order to provide additional challenge. For the p90x workouts it will be necessary to buy a small set of dumbbells or resistance tubes plus a doorway pull-up bar, if you don’t have any of these. Apart from a place to exercise and some time, that is it. Unlike going to a gym you can now choose to exercise when it suits you.

If you simply want to get fit, build up more muscle and lose some weight, then the p90x program will be the one to choose.
