p90x vs crossfit
There are a lot of ways to get fit and the p90x and Crossfit workout programs take very different approaches to this common aim. To start with, Crossfit will suit the individual who prefers to have a very varied and less organized method of training. The workouts are taken from Crossfit’s website and, although guidance is offered, there is no set plan to follow, you decide for yourself what routine you will do for any particular day. This strategy means that a person would have to keep careful records so as to be able to monitor any improvements.
There is a strong contrast between this way of working and that of the p90x system. With p90x the user receives a program of exercise which is contained on twelve DVDs and which guides them through the workouts to be done over a ninety day period. In this way you are never in any doubt if you are doing the right thing and it should be easier to keep track of your progress. This type of structured approach will probably better suit many people who are new to exercising.
In our p90x vs crossfit comparison we found that there is no need to buy any expensive equipment in order to use either of them. P9ox does require you to have a set of dumbbells or resistance tubes and a pull-up bar would be useful. It isn’t as easy to say what the exact requirement for Crossfit would be as the exercises chosen will vary so much from user to user. However, it is possible to choose programs which use mainly bodyweight or very light barbells or dumbbells, so there isn’t a large financial outlay.
We were able to see many p90x reviews on the Beachbody.com website and the majority of them were from satisfied users of the program. Most reviewers preferred the way in which the program leaves no doubt about what workout needs to be done on any day, making it simple to analyze the results. On the other hand, there wasn’t much feedback from user of the Crossfit programs, although what we did find was generally positive and people seemed to be satisfied with the results they were achieving.
You will need to consider the type of person you are before making a choice of one of these workout routines. Do you prefer to have everything set out for you so that you know each day what you have to do? If so, then the obvious choice would be to buy p90x program from Beachbody.com. They have developed this program to provide a particular set of fitness needs and has been proven to work by many satisfied users. You also have the convenience of having all the workouts and diet plans that are part of the program on a set of DVDs that you can refer to any time you need to. This is also the more likely choice for the newcomer to exercise programs who needs to be told what to do.
However, if you know a little bit about training and you know the type of workouts that would suit you, then the Crossfit system might be worth a try. It would require more input from you to find the workout you want to perform for that day, but at least you would be in control.
