Cabbage for Weight Loss – The Step by Step Diet

Here’s the cabbage soup diet laid out in a step by step fashion. The foods you eat vary over the days, but the one constant factor that remains is cabbage soup.

Day 1: With the exception of bananas, you are allowed to have all fruits on the first day. For drinks, the diet allows for only cranberry juice, unsweetened teas, and of course water.

Day 2: No fruits are permitted today. Your diet will include all the vegetables you can possible eat – either raw or cooked. However avoid peas, corn, and dry beans. For dinner, include baked potato with a dab of butter.

Day 3: Have a variety of fruits and vegetables today, but no baked potatoes.

Day 4: Have about 8 bananas today and as many glasses of skimmed milk as you can manage

Day 5: Eat about six fresh tomatoes and ten to twenty ounces of beef. Make sure you drink 6-8 glasses of water. For those that don’t eat beef, you can substitute with baked or broiled chicken.

Day 6: Have plenty of beef and vegetables today. If you are fed up of beef, have broiled fish.

Day 7: Today you will have brown rice, vegetables, and unsweetened fruit juices.

The definite advantage of this diet is that you aren’t called upon to starve yourself. The diet is restrictive, no doubt, and only allows you to have certain foods on certain days of the week; but you can eat as much as you want in those days, which is a great relief!

On the flipside, people who try the cabbage soup for weight loss for the first time are known to experience weakness, lightheadedness, and decreased concentration. However, the effects aren’t long-lasting.
